The man in action…

Some footage of the knees up on the Northbound line (please note that swastika is of the good variety and in no way implies any right wing mental retardation).
Our latest venture… on Thursday we, along with our troupe of trad ninjas, yet again boarded the DART and caused an unholy ruckus, to the delight of the unsuspecting commuters, playing tunes and replacing the incessant twaddle of the advertisements with our own, and those that had been sent in to us… expect more photos soon!
I’ve recently been contacted by the creators of Bawl and Train, who I’ve written about previously.
Bawl and Train are a collective with a mission to transform uninspiring train carriages into creative spaces by involving commuters, organising events and displaying artworks, all to break the monotony of mass transit.
But they need community participation to make it work and have asked the public for heartfelt, individual messages and artworks to replace the generic, commercial advertisements usually found on train carriages. In searching for submissions, they have this to say to Colouring a corner readers (and potential Bawl and Train activists):
“At the moment (although) we are based in Dublin, due to our communications and submissions being based on the Internet, we are happy to receive any submissions people want to send nationwide. We cannot ensure that they will be printed up due to our filtering process (this is not strict, but we prefer art, not advertisements!).
But absolutely anybody can get involved… the more the merrier!”
So there you have it. Go forth unto your daily commute, cast aside your newspaper, make eye contact with your fellow passengers, and get ready to bawl on a train.
